WONDERFUL WORDS IN A WORLD FULL OF WONDERS
I am so amazed by this blog, it is existing for, by and of LOVE and when I read it I think about how many wonderful things we have in this world. Somehow the words that describe them are all concentrated on this webpage, to focus on the positive spirit we want our much loved friend Chris to feel. But it spills over....everytime I go on to check on Chris's latest doings, I get this warm fuzzy feeling of how many wonderful things we are lucky to have in our lives, and how many words we can find to describe them. Thanks for that. Chris I hope you can drink everyword that is written here and use it for your recovery.
Anna and Rita, thanks for being so amazing, and for writing everything here so that us far away people can follow what is happening in such a close way. I feel like I also ran out for icecream in Denver!
I am in Gotland at the moment, Chris we never went here when you came over to Sweden but it is the island where my mum lives. This is an amazing and beautiful spot and I am so happy that I am here right now. Mum started growing asparagus a few years back and this time of the year they are prime! So I have eaten asparagus for lunch and dinner... It is beutiful outside with flowers everywhere, and I am loving every minute of it. And great to be with my mum!
Tomorrow back to the city. Thinking of you, and not a day goes by without me thinking of you and sending you my love and energy. I am absolutely a full on believer of Chris O and I am cheering you from Sweden! LOVE AND LIGHT! Sig
What up Chris?
Whelp, save some of that Toblerone loaf for me. I'll be vibing you...... even more than Waide if you can believe that!
Well, you know what? There's some contradiction within me when I want to write to you-there seems a lot that I can talk yet I don't know what I want to say at the same time. Perhaps it's the "a bolt from the blue" accidence keeps me speechless. It's been about two weeks since I read the e-mails forwards from Kin Bong. I didn't start to write to you 'cause my heart gets a bit heavy with the messages I read. But it amazed me when I check out your "Blog". I can't believe that you and your friends still chat like everything is normal. I can't find a trace revealing that you're hurt! I can still find laughters and sense of humor lying between the lines in the conversations. Your "Killing smile" and its sound seems appear "Live" in front of me as I read the "Blog". Well, it's truly amazing! I can't believe it!
Since I'm not with you in Craig, and I find no trace of sadness in the blog, I have no idea of how serious your current situation is, but being a friend, I truly wish you'll get well really really soon!
Hey, you know what, I still remember once Clive asked what you want to eat when we were about to take break from the studio and ready to go for a meal, you said you like "Kung Poa Chicken". You know what, there are a whole lot more delicious Chinese food here in Hong Kong, it's not limited to KPC, so I wish you would get well and out of Craig really soon and take a trip here to enjoy the amazing Chinese cuisine here, (o of course I will join the dinner and, it's no jacket required).
Well, keep in touch, Chris. I'll check out your blog when I'm available. Drop me a few words if you want, I'll take them as treasures! Besides, I'm on your side whatever the situation is!
BTW, do you notice my name that is post in the contributor list? It seems that I'm the first and only one guy among your friends in HK who writes to your blog! I feel proud of it (though it seems a bit naive). Also, it's good to read something from Joe, (Hi, Joe, how're you!). Joe is good in writing, he writes like a poet. May be, the three of us can chat over the blog.
Finally, I wish again you'll get well soon, Chris!
Talk later.
Your friend, Damien.

watch'in the game, eatin toblerone - c+a
anna and i are watching the suns get their butts handed to them. nash's shooting is almost as sucky as the ceilings in this hospital. it's sad, she is such a great sport for putting up with the game though. chris
...and about this hospital, its awesome. Chris' room has 16' of window all on one wall, very nice, (my dad would love the privacy). So great just hanging out. Chris has all these crazy plans to go out to downtown, lay around in a park, check out wallmart, but i am happy just hanging out right here next to him watching this crappy game.
hopefully he will be moving into a private room soon where there is a separate section for a couch (with a pull out for visitors) a desk and more sitting area. it is so great that many of you have already said you wanted to visit, it is really beautiful and green out here. colorado isnt a bad place at all.
we will be talking about all of you behind your backs tomorrow,
till then
anna
phoenix suuuuuucks, peace out - chris.
Laughing out loud
off to Denver!
Anna
Positive thoughts now + every day!!

thank you, thank you for everyones support. the posts have been so uplifting, and i look forward to reading them. i am working hard and am waiting patiently to learn more about my condition - "hoping for the best, expecting the worst." regardless, of the outcome i will be back!
its about 10:30a on friday and i have a short break before i have to meet my occupational therapist. her name is julie, and today because i have been hassling her about anna's upcoming visit, she is going to teach me how to use the bus system. i can't wait to take anna to walmart, i don't think she has ever been. anyway, i gotta go for now, because my mom is leaving the hospital today, and i want to chat it up with her a little. thanks again everyone, i will write again soon.

Hello from Truckee & Kings Beach
I had a meeting today with Leah K. and instead of business all we could talk about was Chris O. stories, and thinking about you. My guess, as with anywhere you land, you are already making friends in Colorado and leaving a trail of smiles behind you.
Great to hear about Kim's visit and the ice cream escape. Keep up the hard work. We are looking into when we can come visit. I'll have to bring out Lucia and her contagious smile.
We think about you everyday, and think if there is anyone that can get the upper hand on this challenge, it's YOU.
All the best,
Jenn, Joel, & Luica
road trip
I got to spend some quality time w/Chris and Nadine and Tom Zikas Tuesday (day number 2 a Craig). When Tom and I walked in the room, there was Nadine and Chris discussing going to Walmart! Chris had just hooked up his laptop to wifi. SOOOO! He's online (when he has spare time!!!!) Not much of that happening in the next several weeks!
We all went to lunch (pretty good!) at the cafeteria/gym. Then off for ice cream and a trip to the bike shop for bike gloves. We didn't realize we were supposed to sign out first! Also, Chris has to get "educated" before he's supposed to be cruising around Denver... anyway, it was great fun to be out and about. Chris was exhausted by the time we returned, but recovered quickly and talking to a Caseworker, a Doctor and then was off to do a big workout on upper body. Were you sore yesterday Chris??? :)
Craig is really great about working with Chris at his ability (which they didn't seem used to!) Chris is in such great shape, and soooo determined that they are ramping up the routine for him quite a bit!
Well, Chris, have a GREAT weekend with Anna. I hope you get "signed out" for taking adventures around Denver on the bus and light rail.
Kendra and I had a wonderful roadtrip back to Tahoe. We saw a fox and lot's of big horn sheep in colorado, antelope and rodents in Utah, deer and one antelope and cottontail and rodents and quail and LOTS of sheep in Nevada.
Chris, thanks for spending so much time with me while I was there. I'm afraid I probably should have let you go have some quiet time after your big workout! But you are so gracious, I forgot you were probably exhausted by that time!
Rocky is going to L.A. Sat afternoon and picking up your truck, will have it home (Tahoe) by Sunday afternoon. Rocky's looking forward to seeing you. Of course, he'd like to come out for your conference to take notes...
Lot's of Love, Kim and Rocky
Chris+Monty+Three Day Weekend=Big Trouble in Little Colorado...

We are so happy to hear of Chris' acceptance at Craig's hospital for athletic rehabilitation in Colorado. Sports rehab has been a leader in medical knowledge for quite some time now. Their progressive often metaphysical approach using visualization techniques, muscle memory exercises along with the latest scientific mind body approaches is renown for contributing so much to recovery from injury.
Meanwhile, we hold positive thoughts for Chris's courageous recuperation everyday and pray that he finds swift reconciliation with his wholeness, that his muscles remember the true source of their strength and most of all that he becomes united with the healing power of the peace and love of God.
I don't know how to use blogs Rita. Would you kindly forward our message and our prays to him for us. Also please let Chris know that I would like to create a deep relaxation tape/CD for him to listen to that utilizes the medicine of mental imagery along with healing suggestions for restoring neural connections. Please let me know if he feels this would be useful.
All our love, hope and prayers,
Loretta and Lety

Happiness in my Heart
Chris took his mother, Nadine, and a great friend Kim (from Tahoe) down the street and out for ice cream. Sounds like he caught a little bit of heat from Craig for doing it (he he), so next time I am sure that he will ask for permission when he wants to hit the town. Besides, I think he told me he is going fishing tomorrow night!!!!
I am so amazed by his incredible outlook and attitude about everything. He is truly an incredible inspiration to everyone everywhere. I plan to fly out to Denver for the weekend, and I cannot wait to see him!!!!
Chris is so strong willed and bodied but it is undeniable that the reminder that you are all thinking, praying and wishing for him, really helps keep his heart and soul alive too.
Your Anna
Greetings from KB
We've been thinking about you every day & sending healing prayers. I'm disappointed I wont get to see you this week while I am in LA. Hope your settling in to Craig is going well. Wishing you super strength & lots of love...Julie & Todd
Can't wait to see you

riding through Kansas in my mind.
Karina and I are thinking about you every moment. Trying to find some solutions to the situation you're dealing so courageously with so that we can help. I'm thinking from the tech side of things, research, podcasts, etc. What do you think?
I don't know if you know, but things have taken a pretty cool turn in my life and one of the things I have started doing alot of is getting out there on my bike, you are the inspiration for that with all of your endless stories about riding through the counties of Kansas. I think of you every time I'm out there and at all times in between. I was looking forward to seeing you this summer and getting out on the bikes together, I guess I'll just have to wait a little longer now, but I know it'll happen eventually, you're that kind of champion. I know you're going to be back on your feet down the road. I just know it. I think you know it too.
In a sense, it looks like we're both kind of starting over, there are definitely new and exciting adventures before us both. I can't begin to imagine what you're going through but I want you to know that not a day goes by that you're not in our thoughts. We can't wait to see you down the road. We just can't wait to see you again.

Chris O in CO
Chris arrived at Craig around 11:00 am yesterday morning with his mom Nadine and dad John as well as Anna's mom Eloisa . It was really good seeing and hanging out with him. He was super tired after the early morning travel form LA. I basically talked him to sleep by around 3pm. His nap did not last very long as the Craig staff was in and out of his room getting him checked in. His physical therapist, Stephanie (who is super cool) barley had a chance to introduce herself when Chris asked "Soooo when do we get started?" I gave her the low down on Chris' athletic background as well as mental and physical strength. Chis is ready to work! I could go on but I am out the door to see him this again this morning. I was not able to access the calendar but I am back out the 25th to the 30th of May. If someone could plug this into the calendar I would appreciate it. Get out here!!!!

"I feel like Chris Oberle!"
This was Nick’s comment after spending the day fixing his car, digging up and replacing a faulty pipe in his grandmother’s backyard, trimming the hedges, and performing other handy work (however, no pigs were slaughtered). We are both thinking of you all the time and sending our best!
I am so impressed by this blog and the community you have gathered through all the different phases of your life! Best wishes for your time in Colorado!love,
Jen
CHRIS JETS OFF TO CRAIG'S
chris was very pensive + focused yesterday + woke up early this morning pumped + ready to get to craig's.....
after a late night/early morning of watching the movie dodgeball with anna who stayed overnight with chris, they woke up at 2am this morning (monday) to begin getting ready for chris's trip to craig's hospital.
3am chris was prepared + brought down to the ambulance where anna accompanied chris in the ambulance to the airport (her mom + sister, me, following behind the ambulance). we met chris' parents at the airport where we waited for the check in counters to open, so i took the opportunity to sneak into the ambulance + wait a bit with anna + chris as chris gave us highlights, in particular ben stiller moments, from dodgeball that they had watched. chris laughed his great laugh that one dies to see + hear + he was telling us he was really looking forward to getting out into the terminal + seeing people!!! just the chance to start looking around + see what people were doing was something he missed.
4:30am time to say good bye! chris was ready to go, ready to get his rehab started + fully prepared with his parents, nadine + john, + anna's mom, eloisa, who were accompanying chris on his flight to denver. chris's will of strength + mind is beyond admirable, he is focused on the task that has been put in front of him + he is giving it everything he's got. i admire him so very much for the man that he is, he is a champion in every way. it was so great to see chris off in this way + to be able to send with him all the strength + positive energy that everyone has shared with him + our families to accompany him on his trip. he will appreciate it and soak it in now + in the months to come. thank you all!!
the last we heard from chris, he had cleared security, made it to the gate + was sitting on the plane. 6am chris' flight took off.....chris will hopefully be on his computer soon + able to have access + full control of the blog soon, so the conversation continues + will transform as chris comes online!! personally i CAN NOT wait to see him here on his amazing blog!! we love you!! updates on this + chris to come....as i said to chris as he left, let's do this!!!!!!!!
with love,
rita

God bättring !
Örjan (who is Sigrid Svensson's brother) and Susanna (who is his wife).
Chris,
So glad I snuck up to your ucla penthouse to see you before you left town…under the radar of the parking attendant, past the grouchy lady at the front desk, between stacks of odd looking food carts (that you are probably relieved to be leaving behind), and lastly…the biggest hurdle…Rita. Yes, Rita, your personal bouncer was the most difficult to fool of them all. but like you, I persevered. I feel so fortunate to have had a chance to give you the warmest of hellos…and goodbyes. (The warmth mainly came from my just-sterilized hands but I had to let Rita enforce something, right?)

speaking of Bruno...
I haven't seen you for a few days, but our lives have intersected quite a bit this weekend-
I thought you would appreciate this story:
yesterday I was on the phone with Kurt, and I have to admit, I was getting a little annoyed because Kurt was over-the-top multi-tasking. He was talking to me and also hammering away at something in the airstream, over and over again! What ?!?! It was so loud, he must have been hammering right next to the phone. Now I know that sometimes it is important to hammer, but as it kept going and going, I began to question if we ought to be talking with each other. So, after a while I called him out on it. Ooops, I was wrong! Low and behold, it was bruno, wagging his tail super hard against the wall! Who knew that Bruno's tail is as hard as a hammer? 14 years old but going strong!
On a different note, about two months ago we were discussing movies, and you were going on and on about Highlander (for those of you reading this blog that haven't yet been swept away by action sci-fi and therefore may be wondering, chris was going on and on about how Highlander is awesome, not cheesy). Finally it came up on my netflix queue, and I just finished watching it. Yeah! It is up there with Blade I, II, and III! I especially like how he repeatedly calls Sean Connery his Spanish Peacock. I'm feeling so fired up!
Anyhow, a bunch of your recommendations are coming up in the queue, like Why We Fight and Das Boot. We should have a movie club (plus, I am going to be very hard pressed to get anyone else to watch and then talk about movies like Highlander).
It is Sunday night and your move to colorado is tomorrow. I hope you are resting up well right now! I'll be thinking of you in the morning.
peace,
Jasmine
- yeah, ironic, I know. I thought I'd better sign with "peace", since I just totally glorifying Highlander, which is all about chopping off the heads of your enemies and friends, so that you can win "the prize". hmmm, I'm going to go think about that...

Joining in a bit late
This is Char writing, Peter's wife. I started to respond to a recent email rather that join the blog, becuase I have never blogged before. I wasn't sure how to even join a blog, but I also had no idea what was going on with you. I figured the only way to find out, is to go to the site and read it all.
I feel horrible about your accident, I can't even imagine you in this condition. Our prayers are with you on your journey to Colorado. We will definitely stay up on any news that is forwarded our way.
Just to keep you up on the home you designed for us, we are well into construction. The plywood walls of the garage have been put up and the garage window has been framed in. I swear the best view in the house is from the garage! Peter might just get into "fixing stuff" at the workbench that will be built there. Verdi Peak is smack dab in the center of that window. The main floor is much higher off the ground than I had invisioned from your drawings, and I can see that the floor above the garage is going to be pretty high in the air. As the home is taking shape I am shaking my head that it is nothing like I imaginined, and yet JUST LIKE I imagined. Strange. We can't wait for the rest of it to start unfolding.
Chris, I had always assumed that you would be at our house warming. Depending on how long your recovery takes, maybe we will see you there. But regardless, you have to plan on seeing the house that you created when it is done.
Wishing you the best -
Char Arbogast
